Abstract: The invention relates to filter dedicated to protect eye cone cells and method associated. The eye cone cells protecting filter is intended to be applied to a transparent surface and to filter incident light for preventing eye cone cells of a user, from damages due to illumination at physiological light levels on the eye of said user, and having spectral characteristics to i) filter light wavelengths between 405 and 465 nanometers, and ii) transmit a filtered light reaching the eye cone cells and having a harmfulness on said eye cone cells under a predefined maximum threshold.

Abstract: It is proposed a method for defining a design of an ophthalmic tinted lens (1) provided with a turquoise blue ophthalmic filter (12). It is provided at least one optical parameter value that is prescribed with reference to a clear ophthalmic lens. At least one non-null optical power value is determined from said at least one prescribed optical parameter value. At least one reduction value is obtained. At least one reduced optical power value is calculated in function of said at least one non-null optical power value and said at least one reduction value. The ophthalmic tinted lens design is defined on the basis of said at least one reduced optical power value. Methods for defining a design of a first and a second ophthalmic tinted lens are also proposed. It is also proposed a corresponding ophthalmic tinted lens.
