Abstract: The invention relates to a solid object and a method for producing the same. The solid object is produced from a biomaterial-based starting material comprising vinasse and/or molasses. Lignocellulose-based starting material is used in the method by forming a mixture from the fractions obtained from biomass fractionation, which mixture is treated to produce a porous seedbed. The obtained porous seedbed is suitable to be versatilely used as a seedbed for various seeds.
