Abstract:
A novel beverage dispensing apparatus (10) and process to fill recyclable containers with beverages. The apparatus includes a retraction assembly comprising a yoke (112) engaging a bottle for retracting the neck of the bottle into a dispensing chamber, thus sealing the bottle opening with a beverage dispensing nozzle (148). The beverage dispensing nozzle is configured with a syrup port (166), a carbonated water port (168), and a relief port (170). Through the syrup port, a syrup may be introduced into the center of the bottle. The carbonated water port is configured so carbonated water may be directed onto a side wall of the bottle. The relief port is positioned concentrically about the syrup port and between the syrup port and the carbonated water port and provides a port through which the fluid being displaced by the beverage entering the container may exit the container. A liquid detector (184) in fluid communication with the relief port, monitors the flow of fluid displaced by beverage entering the bottle to determine when the bottle is full.
Abstract:
A fluid-driven proportioning pump (10) for dispensing precise volumes of at least two different fluids (X, Y, Z). A drive cylinder (72) is divided into first and second drive fluid chambers (166, 168) by a drive piston (140) that is propelled in a reciprocating motion by a pressurized drive fluid (X). The drive cylinder housing is comprised of two identical cup-shaped housing halves (60) mutually engaged at the open ends thereof. Proportioning pistons (152, 154, 158, 160) extend from each face (162) of the drive piston (140) into proportioning cylinders (142, 144, 148, 150) in the drive fluid chambers (166, 168). An over-center mechanism is triggered by movement of the drive piston (140) at the extremes of the strokes of its reciprocating motion to operate valving (172,182) that admits the pressurized drive fluid (X) alternately into each of the drive fluid chambers (166, 168). A drive cylinder liner sleeve (206) is disposed on the interior of the drive cylinder (72) bridging the engaged mating surfaces (68) of the housing halves (60).
Abstract:
A liquid proportioning apparatus for proportioning two or more liquids into a bottle (20). The liquids are accurately proportioned in the bottle (20) by sensing the respective pressure increases in the bottle (20) as each liquid is introduced into the bottle (20). The bottle (20) is initially pressurized to a first pressure setting to establish a base-line so that subsequent pressure change caused by an incoming liquid will be proportional to the volume of that liquid to the total volume of the bottle (20).
