Abstract: An apparatus and method for deteching the clandestine placement of an illicit chemical present in a beverage is disclosed and described. More particularly an apparatus comprising a porous substrate and one or more colorimetic indicators embedded in or upon the substrate is disclosed. Colorimetric indicators provide a visual indication in presence of "date rape" drugs such as Flunitrazepam, 4-Hydroxybutanoic acid or Ketamine.
