Abstract: A modular endoscope system comprises an imaging guidewire comprising an elongate shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end, an imaging device located proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft and a lighting element located proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft, and an intervention accessory configured to slide along the elongate shaft to provide a medical intervention. A method of providing a medical intervention to an internal anatomic location comprises inserting an imaging guidewire into an anatomic passageway, viewing target anatomy with imaging capabilities of the imaging guidewire, pushing an intervention accessory along the imaging guidewire to the target anatomy, and operating the intervention accessory to provide an intervention on the target anatomy.

Abstract: An endoscope system can include a control handle, a primary scope, an auxiliary scope, and a guide. The primary scope can extend from the control handle to a distal portion and can be configured for insertion into a passage of a patient, the primary scope can define a working channel extending therethrough. The auxiliary scope can be located at least partially within the working channel and can be movable to extend from the primary scope. The guide can be extendable from the distal portion of the primary scope to guide extension of the auxiliary scope from the primary scope.

Abstract: A modular endoscope system comprises a first modular section comprising imaging and illumination units, and a patient-insertable second modular section that can be detached to the first modular section via an attachment mechanism, wherein the first modular section is positionable at a distal end section of the second modular section and is configured to illuminate and image a portion of a patient anatomy. A method of using a modular endoscopy system comprises attaching a first modular section of the modular endoscopy system to a second modular section of the modular endoscopy system, positioning at least a portion of the modular endoscopy system within a patient, illuminating and imaging a portion of a patient anatomy via the first modular section, removing the modular endoscopy system from the patient, and detaching the second modular section from the first modular section after removal of the modular endoscopy system from the patient.

Abstract: A modular endoscopy system comprises a first modular section comprising control and navigation functionality, and a patient-insertable second modular section user-detachably connectable to the first modular section via an attachment mechanism, wherein the first modular section is positionable at a proximal end section of the second modular section and is configured to steer and bend a portion of the second modular section. A method of using a modular endoscopy system comprises attaching a first modular section of to a second modular section of the modular endoscopy system, positioning a portion of the modular endoscopy system within a patient, steering a portion of the second modular section to an anatomy location of the patient via the first modular section, removing the modular endoscopy system from the patient, and detaching the second modular section from the first modular section after removal of the modular endoscopy system from the patient.

A method of collecting biological matter comprises assembling a tissue separator with a scope, inserting the scope and the tissue separator into anatomy, operating the tissue separator to obtain a tissue sample, and withdrawing the tissue sample through an openable lumen in the scope.
