Abstract:
Control of multiple functions of an electronic device is provided by using a single control element (102) including a switch body (312) adjustable between multiple switch positions, a primary actuator (302) with lateral (302b) and distal surface (302a) portions extending from the switch body and configured for adjusting the switch body between the switch positions, and a pressure sensor (314) operable via an activation force at the lateral surfaces of the primary actuator. A first function can be controlled responsive to motion of the primary actuator during an activation of the pressure sensor. Additionally, a second function can be controlled responsive to the motion of the primary actuator of the control element exclusive of the activation of the pressure sensor. Further, a third function can be controlled in responsive to activation of the pressure sensor for at least a first period of time exclusive of motion of the primary actuator.
Abstract:
Systems (100) and methods (400) for controlling functions of a Radio Transceiver (206, 208). At least one function is controlled in response to: a depression of a center of an elongated roller of a control element (102, 300); a depression of a first peripheral edge portion (FPEP) of the elongated roller (302) for a first period of time; a depression of a second peripheral edge portion (SPEP) of the elongated roller for a second period of time; a rotation of the elongated roller around a central axis thereof; a depression of the FPEP (352) for a third period of time that is longer than the first period of time; and/or a depression of a SPEP (354) for a fourth period of time that is longer than the second period of time.
Abstract:
Systems (100) and methods (800, 900) for communicating information over a network (104). The methods involve receiving group call voice data (GCVD) communicated from a first communication device (102, 504, 704) and addressed to a second communication device (SCD). The GCVD (410, 512, 610, 712) is processed to convert it to text data in response to a condition occurring at SCD (106, 108, 112). The condition is selected from a group consisting of an audio mute condition and a concurrent voice communication condition. The speech - to - text conversion is performed at network equipment (114) and/or SCD. The text data is processed to output text defined thereby on a user interface (230) of SCD.
