Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with selection pointers are described. One example computer-implemented method includes generating and displaying a pointer on a display screen. The pointer is formed with a selection area defined by multiple pixels that are adjacent to each other and intersect at a common point. In response to a selection event, a location of the common point of the pointer on the display screen is determined and a value is returned from a graphical object on which the pointer is displayed. The value is determined from the location of the common point of the pointer.

Abstract: Examples are described herein for leveraging out-of-bounds spatial input data to trigger various responsive actions. In various examples, a graphical element controlled by a pointing device may be detected at an edge of a display. Based on the detecting, the pointing device may be caused to provide out-of-bounds spatial input data. Based on the out-of-bounds spatial input data, user intent to trigger performance of a responsive action may be determined, and may trigger performance of the responsive action.

Abstract: A calculator comprises a processor and a keyboard coupled to the processor. The keyboard comprises a calculation key that causes a calculation to be performed on input data. The calculator also comprises a display coupled to the processor. When the calculation key is pressed, the processor determines whether the input data has already been entered. If the input data has not already been input, the processor prompts a user of the calculator to enter the input data via the keyboard by displaying an alphanumeric description of the input data required for the calculation.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with keyboards are described. One example keyboard includes a printed circuit board to control input responses associated to key pads being touched. The keyboard further includes a plurality of transparent key pads flexibly coupled to the printed circuit board. A layer of key labels is disposed between the printed circuit board and the plurality of transparent key pads. The layer of key labels includes symbols visible through the plurality of transparent key pads to identify a corresponding transparent key pad. The layer of key labels is removable and replaceable with a different layer of key labels.
