Abstract:
An optical splitter (200) has a main branch (222) coupled to a number of tributary branches (224-226). The main branch (222) includes a light-absorptive core (230) and a light-reflective grating (232). The absorptive core (230) can absorb light (313) arriving from the tributary branches (224-226) and transmit light (302) arriving from the main branch (222) to the reflective grating (232). The reflective grating (232) can reflect light (302) from the main branch (222) back through the absorptive core (230) to the main branch (222). Light (313) arriving from the tributary branches (224-226) exchanges mode with light (304) reflected by the reflective grating (232).
