Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft expandierbare Polymerpartikel auf Basis von Styrolpolymeren, ein Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung und die Verwendung der expandierbaren Polymerpartikel in einem Schaumstoffformteil. Die Polymerpartikel enthalten A) 87 bis 99 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht von (A), (B) und (C), eines oder mehrerer Styrolpolymeren (A); B) 1 bis 10 Gew.-%, eines oder mehrerer Treibmittel (B); C) 0 bis 3 Gew.-% eines oder mehrerer Keimbildner oder Nukleierungsmittel (C); und optional weitere Zusatzstoffe (Z) in Mengen, die die Domänenbildung und daraus resultierende Schaumstoffstruktur nicht beeinträchtigen.
