    Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a client device of a distributed operating system (OS) environment is provided. The client device may include an application client configured to, in response to a self-permission check indicating that access to a remote application service via an application server at a server device of the distributed OS environment is not granted, request permission to access the remote application service via the application server at the server device. The client device may include an OS framework configured to, in response to the self permission check indicating that access to the remote application service via the application server at the server device is granted, perform a component permission check associated with the server device. The application client and the application server may be associated with an application.

    Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a client device is provided. The client device may include a scenario monitor. The scenario monitor may be configured to maintain a scenario policy associated with access to a restricted resource. The client device may also include an application client. The application client may receive a request for access to the restricted resource. The application client may perform a self-permission check associated with the request. In response to the self-permission check indicating that access to the restricted resource is permitted, the scenario monitor may perform a first scenario policy check associated with the request based on the scenario policy. The client device may further include an activity manager service. In response to the first scenario policy check indicating that access to the restricted resource is permitted, the activity manager service may perform a component permission check associated with the restricted resource.

To accurately measure/monitor screen usage time associated with such devices, one of a plurality of such devices may assume a managing device role through which remaining devices (assuming managed device roles) may relay respective screen time data.     Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing programmable icons ("P-Icons"). In various embodiments, a computing system (e.g., "PIconService" platform) may receive a request to change a programmable icon ("P-Icon") associated with an application software ("app") to an updated P-Icon. In response to receiving the request to change the P-Icon, the computing system may send a set of instructions to a local host ("PIconHost") system to implement change of the P-Icon for display on a user interface that is displayed within a display screen of a user device.     Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing three-dimensional ("3D") launcher with 3D application ("app") icons. In various embodiments, a computing system may receive an application package associated with an application, and may determine whether the application package comprises a 3D profile of an application icon associated with the application. If so, the computing system may load a set of a 3D mesh and a 3D texture, based on the 3D profile of the application icon. If not, the computing system may load a set of a default 3D mesh and a default application icon of the application as texture data. The computing system may render the application icon as a 3D application icon, accordingly. The computing system may cause the 3D application icon to be displayed on a user interface that is displayed within a display screen of a user device.
