Abstract: A protection device that provides improved protection against damage to the underlying product. The protection device includes silk impact pillows that absorb energy from low or high impacts. The present disclosure provides the ability to adjust a plurality of attributes: 1) pillow stiffness, 2) cocoon density; and 3) cocoon height, to construct a pillow of a desired impact resistance.
