Abstract: An apparatus is configured to be employed within one or more nodes. The apparatus includes control circuitry. The control circuitry is configured to perform adaptive ranking to generate an alternative ranked set of beam pairs based on an adaptive ranking criteria, where the adaptive ranking criteria includes switching latencies and predicted qualities and select an alternative beam pair of the alternative ranked set of beam pairs.
