Abstract: Described is an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) operable to communicate with a fifth generation Evolved Node-B (gNB) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry and a second circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to determine a first parameter set and a second parameter set for establishing Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) resources. The second circuitry may be operable to process a first part of a PDSCH transmission from a first set of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) layers corresponding with a first Multimedia Broadcast Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) configuration based on the first parameter set. The second circuitry may also be operable to process a second part of the PDSCH transmission from a second set of MIMO layers corresponding with a second MBSFN configuration based on the second parameter set.

Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate polar coding and decoding for NR (New Radio) systems. Various embodiments discussed herein can employ polar coding and/or decoding at UE(s) (User Equipment(s)) and/or gNB(s) (next generation Node B(s)). One example embodiment employable at a UE can comprise processing circuitry configured to determine one or more thresholds for code block segmentation, wherein the one or more thresholds for code block segmentation comprise one or more of a payload threshold (Kseg) or a code rate threshold (Rseg); determine to perform code block segmentation based on the one or more thresholds and at least one of a current payload (K) of an information block or a current code rate (R) for the information block; segment the information block into a plurality of segments; and encode each segment of the plurality of segments via a polar encoder with a code size (N).

Abstract: Technology is disclosed for a user equipment (UE) operable for wake-up signal (WUS) communication in a fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) network. The UE can be configured to: identify a resource set for a WUS with a repetition level, wherein: the resource set for the WUS includes a mapping of the WUS that associates the WUS with one or more physical resource blocks and one or more orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, and the repetition level identifies a number of base sequences for the WUS in the resource set; and switch to a network access mode (NAM) from a power saving mode (PSM) based on a detection of the WUS in the resource set.

Abstract: Described is an apparatus. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry, a second circuitry, and a third circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to select a set of coding rates comprising a plurality of coding rates. The second circuitry may be operable to, for each coding rate of the plurality of coding rates, estimate a corresponding reliability ranking, such that a plurality of reliability rankings is estimated for the corresponding plurality of coding rates. The third circuitry may be operable to estimate a final reliability ranking, based at least in part on the plurality of reliability rankings. A transmitter is to encode data in accordance with polar coding, based at least in part on the final reliability ranking.

Abstract: A turbo encoder designed to operate at one coding rate may be operated at a lower coding rate by modifying the size of each input block of data. In one implementation, the size may be increased by inserting predetermined bit sequences (i.e., additional bits) into the original block of data to create a "virtual code block" that is larger than the input block of data. The virtual code block may be input to the turbo coder to obtain an encoded output block that includes a systematic portion and parity portion. The systematic portion may be modified to remove the predetermined bit sequence and the resulting output block transmitted over a channel (e.g., a noisy radio channel).
