Abstract: A toolholder for a small-size insert having a shoulder for use with a machine tool for grooving, boring and turning has a substantially planar surface portion in an end portion which defines at least one insert-receiving recess extending inwardly into the body of the toolholder, and the end portion defining at least one abutment surface against which the shoulder of the insert may abut to readily orient and rapidly and readily secure the insert in the toolholder.
