Abstract: An apparatus for extracting fluid motion energy, comprising one or more blades. Each blade comprising one or more vanes. Each vane having an exposed area. The exposed area when impinged by fluid motion, that is generally in the direction of the movement of a blade, is larger than the exposed area when not impinged by fluid motion. And the exposed area when impinged by fluid motion, that is generally opposing the direction of the movement of the blade, is smaller than the exposed area when not impinged by fluid motion.
