Abstract: Disclosed is a broadcast receiver. The broadcast receiver comprises a signal receiver for tuning and outputting a channel of a digital broadcasting signal, a demodulator for demodulating a signal of the received channel and checking a lock state or an unlock state of a gain control signal and a timing control signal of the channel, and a demodulation controller for controlling an operation of the demodulator and detecting a lock state of the channel based on the lock state of the gain control signal and the timing control signal.
