    Abstract: A method for removing iodobenzene compounds from an acetic acid is disclosed. The method comprises contacting an acetic acid with palladium supported on macroreticular ion-exchange resins. A process for producing acetic acid is also disclosed. The process comprises carbonylating methanol in the presence of a carbonylation catalyst and a triphenylphosphine oxide stabilizer to produce acetic acid which contains iodobenzene compounds and removing the iodobenzene compounds by contacting the acetic acid product with palladium.
