    Abstract: A heat exchanger assembly and method of servicing is described and illustrated, and in some embodiments includes a pair of core units in an end-to-end arrangement, and a fluid tank arranged between the core units. Each core unit includes air fins arranged in parallel with one another and spaced apart in a core stacking direction, and parallel arranged fluid conveying tubes located between and bonded to adjacent air fins. The fluid tank includes a first end sealingly attached to a header plate of one core unit and a second end sealingly attached to a header plate of the other core unit. The fluid tank can be crimped to adjacent core units, and can be located entirely within the core stacking direction outermost boundaries of at least one of the core units.

    Abstract: A heat exchanger has a rectangular-shaped core having a plurality of fluid passages extending in a width direction and air fins interleaved between said fluid passages. The heat exchanger has tanks that define fluid manifolds located at opposite ends of the core and fluidly connected by the plurality of fluid passages between the tanks. The tanks each include an extruded tank section with open ends and end caps that enclose the ends of the extruded tank section. The tanks are assembled and attached to the core such that each of the end caps is located at each of four corners of the rectangular-shaped core.

    Abstract: A header for a heat exchanger includes a first and a second cylindrical fluid manifold extending in parallel. Each of the first and second manifolds have tube slots that extend through an arcuate wall section of the manifold. A thickened wall section of the header having a generally triangular wall section is bounded by the first and second fluid manifolds and by a planar outer surface of the header. An aperture extends through the thickened wall section to provide a fluid communication pathway between the first and second cylindrical fluid manifolds.
