Abstract:
A board-to-board connector is disclosed. The board-to-board connector comprises a first connector having a first terminal and a first housing provided with a recessed part, a second connector having a second terminal that contacts the first terminal and a second housing provided with a raised part that inserts into the recessed part, and a switch that electrically detects the fit completion of the first connector and the second connector.
Abstract:
A board-to-board electrical connector assembly is provided for effecting a connection between two circuit boards. The assembly includes a first connector having a low profile dielectric housing including a mating face and a mounting face for mounting the connector on a first circuit board. A plurality of spaced mating posts project from the mating face of the housing. A second connector has a low profile dielectric housing including a mating face for mating with the mating face of the first connector and a mounting face for mounting on a second circuit board. The dielectric housing of the second connector includes a plurality of mating passages in the mating face thereof for receiving the mating posts of the first connector. The passages extend from the mating face all the way to and through the mounting face of the dielectric housing of the second connector.
Abstract:
A PGA socket having structure that permits the slide plate to be kept center-aligned while moving on the base housing, thus assuring that reliable electric connections be established between the PGA lead pins and the terminals of the socket. The PGA socket includes a base housing and a slide plate, the slide plate being movable between a first, or lead pin inserting position, in which the lead pins of the pin grid array package can be inserted in the through holes and the terminal mounts and a second, or locking position, in which the lead pins are applied to the terminals in the terminal mounts. The PGA socket includes at least one resilient piece on either the base housing or the slide plate and that other of the base housing or slide plate has an engagement means for receiving the at least one resilient piece. The resilient piece may be engaged with the engagement means in such a manner that the slide plate is kept aligned relative to its center when it is operated between the first position and the second position. Moreover, the PGA socket may include two resilient pieces, and the two resilient pieces may be arranged symmetrically with respect to the centerline of the base housing.
Abstract:
A board-to-board connector comprises a first connector comprising a first terminal and a first housing having a first joining guide part formed on both longitudinal ends, a second connector comprising a second terminal joining together with the first terminal and a second housing having a second joining guide part joining with the first joining guide part and formed on both longitudinal ends, and a switch closing a detection circuit electrically detecting a complete joining of the first connector and second connector. The switch contains switching materials capable of contacting each other, the contact part of one switching material being an oblique part, and the direction of extension of the oblique part being diagonal with respect to the direction of extension of a straight part that is a contact part of the other switching material.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an improved PGA package socket comprising a generally planar base housing having a plurality of terminals arranged in the form of grid array, and a generally planar slide plate having a corrresponding plurality of through holes arranged in the same form of grid array as the generally planar base housing. The slide plate is placed on the generally planar base housing, and the generally planar base housing has a generally cylindrical cam member fitted on a pivot axle, which passes through the slide plate to stand upright on the front end of the base housing whereby clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of the cam member about is privot axle makes the slide plate move back and forth between an open position and a closed position. The generally planar base housing has a traversal section formed in the vicinity of the pivot axle, thereby allowing the front end of the slide plate to be positioned under the traversal section while moving between the opening position and the locking position, thereby preventing the slide plate from coming up from the base housing.
Abstract:
A terminal is disclosed. The terminal is fitted to a connector, and configured such that, when the connector is fit to a counterpart connector, the terminal electrically contacts the counterpart terminal, which is fit to the counterpart connector. The terminal is formed of a strip-shaped metal plate, the surfaces of which are configured as a rolled surface. The terminal comprises a cantilever-like contacting arm portion having elastic properties, and a contact portion, which is formed in the free end of the contacting arm portion so as to make contact with the counterpart terminal (161). The contact portion is provided with a convex contact portion, which protrudes outward from a rolled surface in a direction normal thereto.
Abstract:
A pair of terminals having a first terminal loaded in a first connector and a second terminal loaded in a second connector mated with the first connector, the terminals coming into contact with each other and being electrified, wherein the first terminal is equipped with a contact portion including a protruding contact protrusion, the second terminal is equipped with a contact portion including a contact recess engaging the contact protrusion, the contact protrusion is equipped with an oblique portion extending obliquely widthwise relative to the contact portion, the contact recess is equipped with an oblique portion extending obliquely widthwise relative to the contact portion, and the oblique portion of the first terminal and the oblique portion of the second terminal cross each other.
Abstract:
An electrical connector includes a first connector connected to a first board, a second connector connected to a second board, the boards being electrically connected by mating the connectors in a predetermined direction; a first reinforcing member embedded on a surface of the first connector, opposite a mating surface of the first connector, with the second connector so that the first reinforcing member reinforces the first connector. The first reinforcing member includes a body; a joining portion provided on the body at one side thereof to be joined to the first board and extending in the predetermined direction; and an engaging portion engaged with the first connector, and defined by a cutout formed at the body to extend in the predetermined direction from an opposite side of the body to the one side of the body. The reinforcing member is attached to the connector.
Abstract:
There is provided an electrical connector including a first connector having a first engaging member with a protrusion; a second connector having a second engaging member formed with a cutout; wherein the protrusion is engaged with the cutout so that the first connector and the second connector are electrically connected to each other; and the cutout is configured to suppress the protrusion from rotating in the cutout. The electrical connector has a structure to avoid the inclined unmating associating with a high risk that the fitted connectors might be unintentionally released from the fitted state.
