    Abstract: A connector is provided for mounting a module, such as a voltage regulator module, to a printed circuit board. The connector includes a housing having side walls defining a slot for receiving a module, such as a voltage regulator module, therein. Terminals are provided in the housing and are in communication with the slot. Latches and solder nails are provided at opposite ends of the side walls. The solder nails and latches may be formed as two separate components which are connected together or may be integrally formed. When a force, such as from vibration and/or shock, is applied to the latches, the force is transmitted directly to the solder nail and directed away from the leads.

    Abstract: The edge card connector provides communication between a daughterboard and a printed wiring board. The edge card connector is mounted to a printed wiring board and provides a slot which is angled relative to the printed wiring board. Upper terminals extend from an upper wall of the slot to the printed wiring board and lower terminals extend from a lower wall of the slot to provide communication between the daughterboard and the printed wiring board. In order to provide a low profile daughterboard-connector combination, portions of the connector housing below the plane of the slot have been minimized. In addition, portions of the lower terminals are provided above the plane of the slot in order to minimize the dimensions of the connector housing below the plane of the slot.

    Abstract: An electrical connector for receiving a daughter card having a plurality of conductive surfaces, the electrical connector has a socket with an elongated slot for receiving the daughter card. The slot has electrical terminals for engaging the plurality of conductive surfaces on the daughter card and for electrically connecting the daughter card to the connector. A U shaped tower at, at least one end of the elongated slot having a pair of legs rotatably retains a latch for securing the daughter card to the connector. The latch is rotatable between a first position at which the daughter card is retained within the elongated slot and a second position at which the daughter card is unrestrained. The connector further has an end wall at , at least one distal end of the elongated slot. The end wall has a protrusion protruding towards the centre of the elongated slot, the protrusion prevents the latch being removed from the tower when the latch is in the first position.

    Abstract: A low-profile edge card connector includes an elongated dielectric housing and a plurality of conductive terminals. The housing has a card-receiving slot and two sidewalls. Each of the sidewalls has an inner side surface, an outer side surface, and a plurality of terminal- receiving slots extending from the inner side surface to the outer side surface. Each of the conductive terminals has a fixed section fixed within the corresponding terminal-receiving slot and extending along a transverse direction of the dielectric housing, a resilient section extending from one end of the fixed section, and a solder section extending from the other end of the fixed section and outwardly of the dielectric housing. The resilient section has a contact portion extending into the card-receiving slot.
