    Abstract: An article for use with a non-combustible aerosol provision device can include a continuous rod of aerosol-generating material and a coil disposed around the rod of aerosol-generating material. The coil can include heating material that is heatable by penetration with a varying magnetic field. A wrapper can be arranged to surround the aerosol-generating material and a coil can be disposed around the wrapper. Alternatively or in addition, the article can include a rolled sheet having a spiral cross- section, the rolled sheet including aerosol-generating material and a mesh comprising heating material that is heatable by penetration with a varying magnetic field. Also, an article can include a continuous rod of aerosol-generating material and one or more bodies disposed in an axial region of the rod, the axial region extending along the longitudinal axis of the rod, wherein the one or more bodies have a circular cross- section and have a diameter in the range 0.5 mm to 5 mm, and wherein the one or more bodies include heating material that is heatable by penetration with a varying magnetic field. Corresponding methods of manufacture are also provided.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a thermal insulator comprises providing an inner wall (210) which is configured to at least partially define a heating zone (144) for receiving aerosol-generating material and which comprises heating material that is heatable by penetration with a varying magnetic field, and providing an outer wall (212) surrounding the inner wall at least partially along its length, an insulation (region (224) being formed between the inner wall and the outer wall. Such a method also includes attaching a portion of a first joining material (252) to the inner wall under atmospheric pressure, attaching a portion of a second joining material (250) to the outer wall under atmospheric pressure, evacuating the insulation region to a pressure lower than atmospheric pressure, and closing the insulation region by joining the first joining material and second joining material to each other. An adhesive (254) or joining members (326, 328) may also be used to close the insulation region.

    Abstract: Disclosed are various aerosol provision devices that may inhibit or prevent the accumulation of condensation, during use, in a conduit that connects the device's heating chamber to the device's exterior. In devices according to one aspect, the interior surface of such a conduit is heated during a session of use. In devices according to another aspect, the interior surface of such a conduit is heated, such that at least a portion of its interior surface attains a temperature greater than or equal to 85°C. In devices according to another aspect, a portion of the interior surface of such a conduit has a thermal conductivity greater than or equal to 1 W/m/K. In another aspect, the interior surface of such a conduit is heated such that at least a middle portion of the interior surface attains a temperature greater than or equal to 70°C. Devices according to a further aspect include an air heating unit for heating air within such a conduit to thereby substantially prevent accumulation of condensation within the conduit. In devices according to a still further aspect, at least a portion of such a conduit is defined by a component comprising a first susceptor, with the first susceptor being heatable by an inductor that forms part of a heating assembly for heating the device's heating chamber; the susceptor in turn heats the conduit, thereby substantially preventing accumulation of condensation within the conduit. In devices according to yet another aspect, at least a portion of such a conduit is defined by a component comprising thermally conductive material, with the thermally conductive material of the component abutting a heating element that forms part of a heating assembly for heating the device's heating chamber, so that the component is heatable by thermal conduction from the heating element, thereby substantially preventing accumulation of condensation within the conduit. Devices according to a still further aspect, when an article comprising aerosol-generating material is fully inserted in the device and is engaged with a stop within the device, there is a first portion of a length of the article that does not overlap with any heating element, the first portion extending either proximally from the distal end of the article, distally from a proximal end of the article. In devices according to another aspect, one or more components define such a conduit and a heating chamber for the device, the one or more components providing a hermetic seal where the heating chamber and the conduit meet.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to apparatus and methods for manufacturing articles for use as or in an aerosol provision system. The disclosure also relates to an apparatus and methods for applying a substance in liquid form to a substrate, such as a sheet material wrapper for an article for use as or in an aerosol provision system. In one embodiment the apparatus comprises a rod forming portion (120) which forms one or more portions of sheet material into a rod. A first applicator (150) applies a first substance in liquid form to the one or more portions of sheet material. An air flow nozzle (140) also supplies a heated flow of air to the rod forming portion (120). In another embodiment, a substance in liquid form is applied to a substrate with an apparatus (210) comprising a conduit (211) and at least one nozzle (212). The conduit and/or nozzle are heated to a temperature greater than the melting point of the substance.
