Abstract: A label applicator, labelling system and method are disclosed. The label applicator (10) is configured to be applied to a surface of an item to be labelled. The label applicator (10) includes a mask (4000) that is separable from the label applicator (10). The label applicator (10) is configured to direct passage of a mark onto the surface of the item and, upon separation, the label applicator directing the mask (4000) over the mark to thereby form a label.
