Abstract:
A communication apparatus which performs a carrier detection and is connected to a transmission line includes: a carrier detecting means for detecting a first control signal for the carrier detection and a second control signal for the carrier detection; a comparing means for comparing carrier detecting results obtained by the carrier detecting means; and a control means for controlling at least one of a symbol length of the first control signal and a symbol length of the second control signal based upon a comparison result obtained by the comparing means.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus is connected to a transmission channel for transmitting data to another communication apparatus. The communication apparatus includes: a communication frame generator which generates a communication frame for storing the data; and a controller which controls to insert a pilot symbol into the communication frame based on a state of the transmission channel.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus carries out multicarrier communication with another communication apparatus through a transmission channel. The communication apparatus includes a first communication unit which carries out communication using a subcarrier at a first frequency band; a second communication unit which carries out communication using a subcarrier at a second frequency band higher than the first frequency band; and a third communication unit which carries out communication by synchronizing the first communication unit with the second communication unit and concurrently using the first and second frequency bands.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus for transmitting transmission data containing a preamble and a postamble is provided. The communication apparatus includes: a phase vector assigning unit which assigns a first phase vector to a plurality of subcarriers relating to the preamble and assigns a second phase vector to a plurality of subcarriers relating to the postamble, the first phase vector being different from the second phase vector.

Abstract:
A communication apparatus repeatedly outputs a first multi-carrier signal SS during predetermined periods T1, T2, T3,..., and outputs a second multi-carrier signal RS whose phase vector is different from that of the first multi-carrier signal SS, at a predetermined timing based on the first multi-carrier signal SS. The communication apparatus further detects the second multi-carrier signal RS output from another communication apparatus, which uses a different communication method from the communication apparatus. Accordingly, both communication apparatuses can differentiate the first multi-carrier signal SS from the second multi-carrier signal RS without performing relatively cumbersome modulation and other processes.
Abstract:
To provide a communication apparatus and a communication method which make it possible to communicate with another communication apparatus over plural transmission lines while keeping the power consumption low. A communication apparatus 100 is equipped with, as plural communication sections capable of communicating with another communication apparatus over different transmission lines, a powerline communication section which performs a wired transmission using a powerline PL and a wireless communication section which performs a wireless transmission. The communication apparatus 100 causes at least one of the powerline communication section and the wireless communication section to perform a communication. If at least one of the powerline communication section and the wireless communication section is not to perform a communication, operation of that communication section is suspended.
Abstract:
A receiving apparatus and method for performing carrier detection in a frequency domain for a digital wavelet multi-carrier transmission. A wavelet transform of received data is performed to output complex data and then the complex data is delayed for one sampling period. Subsequently, the delayed complex data and delayed complex data are divided. A number of the divided complex data present within each of plural quadrants on orthogonal coordinates is calculated and a maximum number of data present within one of the quadrants is selected and compared with a threshold in order to decide whether the received data is intended data.
