    Abstract: A pipe mixer (10) for an after treatment system (100) is described for mixing of a reductant and exhaust gas. The pipe mixer (10) comprises a hollow body (12) having a first end (14) and a second end (16), the body (12) surrounding a mixing channel (22); an injector mount (34) positioned at the first end (14) of the body (12); perforations (46) provided on the body (12) for entry of exhaust flow into the mixing channel (22); directional elements (48) positioned on the body (12) for directing exhaust flow towards the injector mount (34), the directional elements (48) being positioned between the first end (14) and the perforations (46) wherein each directional element (48) comprises an inlet (50) formed on the body (12) for entry of exhaust flow and a guide (52) provided on an internal surface (17) of the body (12), the guide (52) having an outlet (54) for exit of exhaust flow.

    Abstract: An exhaust mixer apparatus, emissions cleaning module, and a method of manufacturing the exhaust mixer apparatus is provided. The exhaust mixer apparatus comprises an exhaust conduit, a first exhaust mixer and a second exhaust mixer. The exhaust conduit is configured to extend in an elongate direction comprising an inlet and an outlet for transporting exhaust fluid. The first exhaust mixer comprises a plurality of elongate mixing blades each having a length extending in the elongate direction. The elongate mixing blades are connected together along at least part of their lengths and arranged about the elongate direction, each elongate mixing blade comprising an outer edge extending in the elongate direction. The elongate mixing blades are twisted along their lengths such that the outer edge of each elongate mixing blade is rotated about the elongate direction. The exhaust conduit is configured to locate the first exhaust mixer in an upstream location of the exhaust conduit. The second exhaust mixer is configured to impart a swirl on an exhaust fluid when in use. The second exhaust mixer is arranged in the exhaust conduit downstream and spaced apart from the first exhaust mixer in the elongate direction.

    Abstract: A flowhood assembly 1 comprises an injector 30 which is fixable to a mount 50 in a number of alternative mounted positions defined by rotation of the injector about an injection axis X2 relative to the mount. The injector 30 includes one or more coolant ports 34, 35 which are connected in use to a supply of liquid coolant C. The mount 50 is fixable to a flowhood 10 in an upright, design orientation and in alternative connected positions defined by rotation of the flowhood 10 relative to the mount 50 about a connection axis XI. In a normal use position of the assembly the connection axis XI of the flowhood is arranged at a predefined angle, optionally 0°, relative to a nominal horizontal plane PI. The injector 30 is not fixable to the mount 50 other than in the alternative mounted positions. In use in the normal use position, and in each of the alternative mounted positions of the injector, the injection axis X2 of the injector is oriented downwardly away from the injector relative to the horizontal plane PI, and at least one of the coolant ports 34, 35 is arranged above the horizontal plane PI which passes through the injection axis X2 at an outlet end 32 of the nozzle.

    Abstract: A flow hood assembly for an engine aftertreatment system having a particulate filter and a selective catalytic reduction device is disclosed. An outer case defines a cavity, the outer case having an inlet and an outlet formed therein, and a neck section formed between the inlet and the outlet. A socket in the outer case is in an opposed relationship to the outlet and is shaped to receive an injector that introduces a reducing agent into the flow of exhaust gases. A baffle reduces a cross-sectional area of the cavity at the neck section to increase exhaust gas velocity at a sensor positioned at the neck section. A deflector member in the cavity between the baffle and the socket directs a portion of the exhaust gases towards the socket and across the injector nozzle.
