    Abstract: The invention relates to mouthpiece (10) for inhaling an aerosol, comprising an airflow channel (14) for the aerosol extending through the mouthpiece, a flavor compartment (16) comprising at least one flavoring agent (12) for flavoring the aerosol, the flavor compartment being in fluid communication with the airflow channel in a central portion (17) of the airflow channel, wherein a cross-sectional area of the airflow channel in the central portion increases in the flow direction through the airflow channel. The mouthpiece provides a flavoring to an aerosol with efficient mixing of the aerosol and the at least one flavoring agent.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an aerosol-generating system comprising a main unit and a replaceable mouthpiece. The main unit comprises a heating element for heating an aerosol- forming substrate. The mouthpiece comprising an outlet channel. The mouthpiece and the main unit have corresponding structural components with complementary geometrical shapes. When the mouthpiece is connected to the main unit, the corresponding structural components of the mouthpiece and the main unit define an inlet channel. The inlet channel and the outlet channel form an airflow path from an air inlet to an air outlet via the heating element.

    Abstract: Many current aerosol-generating devices are complex, costly, bulky, and suffer from degraded airflow during use. To address at least some of these issues, there is provided an aerosol-generating device comprising a housing comprising a sidewall defining a through-hole which extends from a mouth end of the device to an opposite distal end of the device so as to form an airflow path through the device. The through-hole defines at the mouth end a receptacle for receiving an aerosol-generating article and at the distal end an air inlet for enabling ambient air to be drawn into the receptacle and thereby through the aerosol -generating article. The aerosol-generating device further comprises one or more electric or electronic components arranged laterally adjacent to the sidewall and at least partly surrounding the sidewall. In this way, a compact yet fully functional aerosol-generating device may be provided in which the control of airflow is greatly simplified.
