Abstract: Provided is rehabilitation apparatus (10) comprising a base (12), at least one linear guide rail (14) supported on the base (12), at least one carriage (16) configured to be operatively guided along the base (12) by said guide rail (14), and at least one footplate (18) adjustably mounted to the carriage (16), said footplate (16) configured to receive a user's foot (20). Apparatus (10) also includes at least one biasing member (22) arrangeable to interconnect the carriage (16) and the base (12) so that said member (22) counteracts translation of the carriage (16) along the guide rail (14) in a predetermined and configurable manner. Further included is a braking arrangement (24) configured to controllably arrest guided translation of the carriage (16). In this manner, apparatus (10) enables a user to urge the carriage (16) along the base (12) with user-configurable force whilst allowing controlled braking as required.
