Abstract:
A Biological Agents detecting method (9) for expelling air out of mailpieces includes the steps of creating a stack of the mailpieces; cutting an opening in at least some of the mailpieces via a Corner Snipper (13) ; then jogging the stack of the mailpieces in a Jogger Tray of a Jogger System (11) which registers the corners of the mailpieces and jogs the mailpieces; and then subjecting the stack of mailpieces to at least one compression/decompression cycle in a Bander (17) during such jogging step, thereby expelling air and powder out of the at least some of the mailpieces through their corresponding openings that is flowed towards the Vacuum/HEPA Filter system (15) to be tested and analyzed for unusual components via the Paper Filter (19) and the Particle Sampler (21) of an Air Monitoring System. A jogger system apparatus incorporates all necessary parts and structure for accomplishing this type of safety mail inspection process.
