摘要:
A self-closing dispenser includes a cap (70) having apertures (76), a container (74) having a neck (72), a sealing plate (80) positioned atop the neck, and apertures (78) extending through the sealing plate (80). Resilient members, such as plastic leaf spring (82) or sponge-like pads, are integrally formed with, or otherwise secured between, the cap (70) and/or the neck (72) of the container. Cooperating tongues (90, 92) and grooves (84, 86), with lands (88, 94) situated therebetween, are defined between the interior surface of the cap (70) and the exterior surface of the neck (72) for drawing the cap (70) snugly against the sealing plate. The resilient members normally retain the apertures in the cap out of alignment with the apertures in the sealing plate (80). The apertures (76) are brought into alignment by applying manual pressure to the cap (70) so that the contents of the container (74) can be dispensed. Upon termination of the manual pressure, the resilient members automatically shift the apertures (76) out of alignment and close the dispenser.

A child resistant dispensing closure (10) having a cap (12) and a spout (14) mounted thereon for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis. The upper surface of the spout is provided with a plurality of ribs (48, 50), each of which has a distinct energy plane. Only one rib, usually, the rearmost (50), allows sufficient purchase to produce the force vector necessary to initiate rotation of the spout when a manual force is applied thereto. The cap includes a cylindrical skirt (18) with a frusto-conical section (16) extending upwardly therefrom. A protective flange (66) extends upwardly about the perimeter of the upper end of the frusto-conical section to deter unauthorized access to the spout. The upper wall of said cap is canted at an acuate angle to a horizontal plane passing through the cylindrical skirt of the cap, so that the spout is further recessed within the protective flange.

A dispensing closure (10) consisting of a cap (12) with a cavity (26) defined in its upper surface (18), and a spout (14) to fit within the cavity. Aligned trunnions (42) are formed on opposite sides of the spout. An opening (28) in the cap allows communication between the container upon which the cap is seated and a central passage (46) in the spout. A pair of standard (30, 32) are molded within the cavity in the cap, and one standard is situated on each side of the opening. A U-shaped bearing (34, 36) is located at the upper end of each standard and spaced fingers (38) define the entrance into each bearing. The trunnions are forced downwardly into the opening in each bearing. The bearings accept the trunnions thus securing the spout to the cap. The spout is mounted for pivotal movement between a closed position, and an opened position, which permits the discharge of the contents of the container.

A plastic dispensing closure including a closure body (102), a lid, a resilient ''living'' hinge (106) joining the lid to the closure body, and camming members (118, 114) defined between the lid and the closure body to temporarily deform the hinge, within its elastic limits, as the lid is moved between its opened and closed position. One end of the hinge (106) is secured to a flexible holder (120) situated at the rear of the closure. Such holder (120) functions as a cantilever beam and serves as a spring to minimize the stress forces imposed upon the ''living'' hinge. The closure body, lid, and hinge may be integrally molded, and the holder (120) may be situated upon the closure body (Fig. 13), or upon the lid (Fig. 15) as design considerations dictate.
