Various techniques and apparatuses are disclosed that provide for pixelated display modules that integrate an ultrasonic fingerprint or biometric sensing capability. In some implementations, the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and the display components of the display module may share a common backplane. In some implementations, the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor may share a flex cable with other components in the display module. In some implementations, the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor may leverage conductive traces on a cover glass used to provide for touch input to the display module.

The disclosure is directed to storing trace information. An aspect includes determining whether or not a pen is within a threshold distance of the touchscreen, storing trace information generated by a user's touch in a touch buffer if the pen is not within the threshold distance of the touchscreen, and clearing the touch buffer and storing trace information generated by the pen in the touch buffer if the pen is within the threshold distance of the touchscreen.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for performing an action based on a detected gesture are provided. The systems and methods provided herein detect a direction of an initial touchless gesture and process subsequent touchless gestures based on the direction of the initial touchless gesture. The systems and methods translate a coordinate system related to a user device and a gesture library based on the detected direction such that subsequent touchless gestures can be processed based on the detected direction. The systems and methods allow a user to make a touchless gesture over a device to interact with the device independent of the orientation of the device since the direction of the initial gesture can set the coordinate system or context for subsequent gesture detection.
