A method and apparatus improve Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call setup success rate and latency. The method provides for attempting a mobile originated packet switched call, by a user equipment (UE), across a packet switched network with a transmission control protocol (TCP) connection of the Internet Protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) session. A silent redial of the mobile originated packet switched call is performed in response to a failure of the mobile originated packet switched call, via a circuit switched network. A keep alive message is transmitted over the packet switched network after the circuit switched network call, which allows reconnection to the packet switched network.
Abstract:
In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) groups a plurality of images. The UE displays a first image among the plurality of images, determines an object of interest within the first image and a desired level of zoom, and determines to lock onto the object of interest in association with one or more transitions between the plurality of images. The UE determines to transition to a second image among the plurality of images, and detects, based on the lock determination, the object of interest within the second image. The UE displays the second image by zooming-in upon the object of interest at a level of zoom that corresponds to the desired level of zoom.

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for adjusting transmit power headroom for a secondary link while operating in an NSA mode are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes receiving a request to enter a multi-connectivity mode in which the UE is able to transmit data to a first base station via a first access link or to a second base station via a second access link. The example method also includes determining a first maximum uplink transmit power for transmissions using the first access link. Additionally, the example method includes determining a second maximum uplink transmit power for transmissions using the first access link based on uplink transmissions transmitted during an evaluation window. The example method also includes transmitting, via the first access link, at least one uplink transmission based on the second maximum uplink transmit power.

A method of wireless communication includes communicating, by a user equipment (UE), with a first base station. The method further includes receiving, by the UE from a second base station, a reference signal associated with a reference signal received power (RSRP) value and a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) value. The method further includes, based on whether the RSRP value satisfies a first threshold and further based on whether the SNR value satisfies a second threshold, determining whether to include an indication of the second base station in a measurement report to the first base station.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for a user equipment (UE) to establish a voice service registration in a wireless communication system. The wireless communication system may include one or more radio access networks (RANs), a core network, and an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network. In some deployments, when the core network establishes a default packet bearer for the UE, the core network may fail to indicate whether the it supports an IMS voice over packet system (VoPS) service (such as Voice over Long Term Evolution, VoLTE). In such instances, the UE may presumptively attempt to register with the IMS VoPS service. Doing so may be useful, for example, when the UE also has an LTE radio connection as well as a 5G New Radio (NR) radio connection with a 5G NR RAN of the wireless communication system.

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) determining whether or not to attempt to demodulate each physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidate of a group of PDCCH candidates using a respective downlink control information (DCI) format '1's eries before attempting to demodulate PDCCH candidates of the group of PDCCH candidates using a respective DCI format '0's eries. The UE then demodulates each PDCCH candidates of the group of PDCCH candidates based on the determination.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a request to a network entity to establish a voice communication session with another UE that may be subscribed to a video service. The UE may transmit an indication of a video streaming parameter for the video service for streaming one-way video transmissions from the network entity to the UE for display during establishment of the voice communication session. The UE may transmit an indication of an updated video streaming parameter to the network entity to reduce the video quality for the video service. The network entity may reduce the video streaming quality for the one or more one-way video transmissions to the UE based on the updated video streaming parameter.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for a determination by a user equipment (UE) that a limit associated with one or more parameters are exceeded. Based on such a determination, the UE may suppress a transmission of one or more reference signals to a base station. The one or more parameters may include a thermal parameter, a target throughput parameter, or any combinations thereof. By suppressing the transmission of one or more reference signals from the UE, a channel condition associated with the UE as estimated by the base station may be reduced by an amount sufficient to cause the base station to reduce a data rate for communications with the UE.Such a reduction in data rate may allow the one or more parameters to come within the associated limits.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a connection with a first network. A registration message may be transmitted to a second network for establishing voice over internet protocol services with the second network. A registration failure message may be received from the second network, where the registration failure message indicates a retry timer for retrying registration with the second network. A determination may be made that the retry timer exceeds a time threshold for the UE and that circuit switched fallback is unsupported by the UE or the first network, and a search procedure for a third network may be performed for switching the connection from the first network to the third network.

In one aspect of the disclosure, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes, while configured in a stand alone mode, receiving a system information block (SIB) from a serving base station. The method also includes identifying, based on the received SIB, a first neighbor base station that is a neighbor of the serving base station, and updating neighbor information based on the SIB to indicate a second neighbor base station that is a neighbor of the first neighbor base station.
