Abstract:
A pressure transmitter (10) includes an isolator mounting assembly (12, 150) for isolating process fluid from an interior cavity (22) of the pressure transmitter (10). The isolator mounting assembly (12, 150) includes an isolator plug (66, 152) for receiving the process fluid line pressure and coupling the line pressure to a sensor cavity (32) formed by a header (68, 154) joined to a distal end of the plug (66, 152). A ring member (70) is attached to the header (68, 154) and the distal end of the plug (66, 152) to reinforce the joint formed between the isolator plug (66, 152) and the header (68, 154). In another embodiment, the isolator mounting assembly (150) includes a base (154) and a support (181) having first and second opposed ends (190, 202). The first end (190) is rigidly bonded to the pressure sensor (184) while an epoxy joint (200) joins the second end (202) of the support (181) to the base (154).
Abstract:
A steam trap monitor (230) includes a process variable sensor (232) configured to sense a process variable related to operation of a steam trap (100). A memory (238) contains information related to a baseline parameter of the process variable. Diagnostic circuitry (236) calculates a current parameter of the process variable sensed by the process variable sensor (232) and compares the current parameter of the process variable with the baseline parameter. Based on the comparison, the diagnostic circuitry (236) responsively provides a diagnostic output based upon the comparison. The baseline and current parameter are based on a time period during which the steam trap (100) is open or closed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mounting assembly (21) for a pressure sensor (30) in a pressure transmitter (10). The mounting assembly (21) includes a header (58) having a cavity (32) opening to a first surface (103). The cavity (32) is defined by an inner endwall (164) and an inner sidewall (130). A support (120) is joined to the inner endwall (164) within the cavity on a first support end (150). A pedestal (102) has a first pedestal end (102A) supporting the pressure sensor (30) and a second pedestal end (102B) joined to a second support end (136). Aligning means (132) align the second pedestal end (102B) to the second support end (136) in order that a volume of the mounting assembly (21) is increased to thereby reduce a quantity of fill fluid needed in the sensor cavity (32).
