    Abstract: A heat conducting plate (14) for facilitating optical and mechanical coupling between an optical element (12) and a solar cell die (18a) of at least one concentrator cell assembly (18) and a method for assembling of a solar cell assembly (100), of which the heat conducting plate (14) is a part of is disclosed. The solar cell assembly (100) includes the optical element (12), the concentrator cell assembly (18) and a optical coupler. The heat conducting plate (14) includes a depression (16) and at least one groove (20) provided on the operative top face thereof. The depression (16) receives the concentrator cell assembly (18) and restrains movement of the concentrator cell assembly (18) for locating and aligning the solar cell die (18a) with respect to the optical element (12). The at least one groove (20) circumscribes the depression (16) and receives the optical element (12) just above the solar cell die (18a). The concentrator assembly includes a solar cell die (18a), a substrate (18b) and electrical conductors (15).
