Abstract: A connector system includes a first connector that includes a first plurality of contacts terminating at the first end of the first connector, a first contact insulator surrounding at least some of the first plurality of contacts, and a first planar ground plate terminating at the first end of the first connector. The connector system further includes a second connector that includes a second plurality of contacts terminating at the first end of the second connector and configured to mate with the first plurality of contacts when the first connector and the second connector are mated, a second contact insulator surrounding at least some of the second plurality of contacts, and a second planar ground plate terminating at the first end of the second connector and configured to contact the first planar ground plate when the first connector and the second connector are mated.
