Abstract: A rucksack with one wall engaging the back of a user and having carrying straps and a waistband for engaging the user's hips. The straps (4) and/or the waistband (5) contain inflatable pockets (6) each of which includes a number of compartments (9) connected by channels (10) and mutually separated by free areas (12, 13) which, having no inflatable compartment, extend substantially across the width of the respective strap or waistband.
