摘要： A protective eye mask (10) for sports use, without a helmet, includes one or more substantially horizontal frame members (28) forming an eye mask frame, defining a cage to protect an area around a user's eyes, the eye mask frame having at least an upper frame segment (44) and a lower frame segment (46), the frame members having an inside facing towards the user's eyes and an outside facing away therefrom; one or more substantially horizontal frame members (28) arranged between the upper (44) and lower frame segments (46); one or more substantially vertical frame members (26) continuous with or rigidly attached to one or more of the substantially horizontal frame members (28); a contact material (30) for contacting the user's face area, attached to the eyewear frame; and a mechanism for securing (36) the protective eye mask to the user's face.
