Abstract: An electronic device (100) is disclosed. The electronic device is adapted to receive and process an electromagnetic radiation, such as a radio frequency signal from a wireless communication system. The electronic device comprises:a metasurface (115) for intercepting the electromagnetic radiation, the 5metasurface comprising a plurality of active elements for sensing at least one parameter of the electromagnetic radiation as it is actually received at the electronic device, wherein the active elements of said plurality of active elements are controllable to implement a plurality of configurations of the metasurface each one corresponding to a radiation pattern with which the electromagnetic radiation is passed through the 0metasurface, a control unit (CU) communicably coupled to the metasurface, wherein the control unit is configured to iteratively:receive the sensed at least one parameter from the metasurface;identify, based on the at least one parameter of the electromagnetic 5radiation, an optimized configuration, among the plurality of configurations, that optimizes electromagnetic radiation reception at the electronic device, andcontrol the active elements to implement the optimized configuration.
