    Abstract: A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. According to one or more embodiments, a network node configured to communicate with a wireless device (WD) is provided. The network node is configured to, and/or comprising a radio interface and/or comprising processing circuitry configured to transmit a measurement request for the wireless device to perform a measurement on a non-operating channel where the measurement request includes an indication that the network node is configured to prioritize data traffic for the wireless device. The processing circuitry and/or radio interface is further configured to optionally receive a message associated with the measurement request where the message indicates whether the measurement associated with the measurement request was performed.

    Abstract: An access point of a wireless communication system configures a carrier for communication with one or more wireless devices associated with the access point. Based on a backoff counter maintained by the access point, the access point contends for access to the carrier to transmit data.     Abstract: A transceiver device comprises a controller arranged to identify a first set of control information within the data packet, and to re-map the data packet such that the first set of control information is mapped on bits known to be more robust.     Abstract: Methods, apparatus and non-transitory machine-readable mediums are provided for wireless access in communications networks comprising radio access network nodes and wireless light communication network nodes. In one embodiment, a method is performed by a radio access network node for selecting a transmit or receive beam for communication with a wireless device in a communication network. The radio access network node comprises a plurality of antenna elements configurable to provide a plurality of transmit or receive beams. A frequency domain representation of the incident radio signal (502) comprised at least one muted gap between active subcarriers within a bandwidth of the incident radio signal (502). The incident radio signal (502) is backscattered from the antenna by modulating an impedance of the antenna according to the data using at least two different modulation frequencies that differ by less than the bandwidth.
