A second radio link measurement report for the one or more candidate radio links and based on the same one or more mobility measurements, is transmitted (S34) to the source access node using a second radio link measurement report different from the first radio link reporting mechanism. Finally, a wireless device connection is initiated (S35) over a handover target link indicated in a handover command from the source access node or over the initial target link, wherein the wireless device connection is initiated over the initial target link based on a reception status for the handover command.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to methods and arrangements for performing wireless device assisted handover form a source access node to a target access node. Performed in a wireless device, the disclosure presents a method for performing wireless device assisted handover from a source access node to a target access node in a wireless network. The method comprises performing (S31) one or more mobility measurements for corresponding candidate radio links and selecting (S32), from the one or more candidate radio links, an initial target link based on the performed one or more mobility measurements. A first radio link measurement report, based on the one or more mobility measurements, identifying the initial target link, is transmitted (S33) to the source target node using a first radio link reporting mechanism whereupon communication over the initial target link is initiated (S34). A second radio link measurement report for the one or more candidate radio links and based on the same one or more mobility measurements, is transmitted (S35) on the initial target link using a second radio link measurement report different from the first radio link reporting mechanism.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to methods and arrangements for configuring radio link measurement reporting in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of radio link reporting mechanisms. Performed in an access node, the method comprises obtaining (S21) a plurality of radio link reporting configurations, each radio link reporting configuration specifying one or more of the supported radio link reporting mechanisms and wherein at least one of the plurality of radio link reporting configurations specifies a combination of a first and a second radio link reporting mechanism being mutually different. The method further comprises selecting (S22) one radio link reporting configuration from the plurality of obtained configurations; and transmitting (S23) information about the selected radio link reporting configuration to a wireless device.
Abstract:
A UE (22) in handover consideration transmits an uplink measurement signal comprising repetitions of a predetermined identity code. Network access nodes (18, 20) that are candidate handover target nodes receive the signal and use it for channel quality and timing offset measurements. To ensure that a predetermined minimum number of symbols are received without interference from user traffic, an uplink measurement signal reception window is defined for each candidate node (18, 20). The timing of the reception window is based on a total timing misalignment between the UE (22) and the candidate node. In some embodiments, the duration of the reception window is based on an uncertainty in the timing misalignment estimate.Reception of user data is precluded during the uplink measurement signal reception window (on the allocated subband, if the full uplink carrier is not used). The UE transmits the uplink measurement signal in an uplink measurement signal transmission window. In some embodiments, the duration of the transmission window is sufficient to encompass the uplink measurement signal reception windows of all candidate nodes.

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for receiving tracking reference signals, TRS, in a wireless network. An example method comprises receiving, from 5 the network node, system information including a configuration for tracking reference signals, the configuration specifying a plurality of occasions at which the network node may transmit tracking reference signals, where the system information further specifies at least a first window in which availability information for a tracking reference signal according to the configuration will be signaled. The example method further comprises receiving the availability information 0 during the at least a first window, and determining whether a tracking reference signal is available, based on the received availability information.
Abstract:
A method (1200) by a wireless device (110) includes receiving (1202), from a network node (160), a paging early indicator, PEI, configuration that includes an indication of a mapping of a PEI to a plurality of paging occasions, POs. The wireless device receives (1204) the PEI from the network node. Based on the mapping of the PEI to the plurality of POs, the wireless device monitors (1206) a shared channel during the plurality of POs.
Abstract:
A method (1000) by a wireless device (110) includes determining (1002) a first set of Paging Occasions (POs) and receiving (1004), from a network node (160), a paging early indicator (PEI) configuration associated with a group of wireless devices and a second set of POs. The wireless device determines whether the wireless device belongs to the group of wireless devices associated with the PEI configuration. If so, the wireless device attempts to receive a PEI, and monitors at least one of the POs in the second set of POs if the PEI is received. If not, the wireless device monitors at least one of the POs in first set of POs. If a paging message is received in the first or second set of POs, the wireless device transmits, to a network node, a message comprising information related to a usage of the PEI.
