A tensioning device (100) for a chain driven jaw system (200) in a package filling machine is disclosed. The chain driven jaw system (200) has a fixed cam (101) and a chain (102) as a follower. The tensioning device (100) comprises a chain tensioning element (103) shaped and angled so to receive the chain (102) on an outer surface (104) thereof configured to be directed away from a center (C) of the chain driven jaw system (200), wherein the chain tensioning element (103) comprises a pivot connection (105), and wherein the chain tensioning element (103) is configured to be integrated with the fixed cam (101) at the pivot connection (105) such that the chain tensioning element (103) abuts the fixed cam (101) at the pivot connection (105) and can move to tension the chain (102). A chain driven jaw system (200) and a related method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method in a packaging machine apparatus is disclosed. The packaging machine apparatus comprises a feed belt, a discharge device, and a drive chain cooperating with, and arranged between, the feed belt and the discharge device. The method comprises aligning the discharge device with respect to the drive chain to create a first path, through the discharge device, along which the drive chain can freely move, and aligning the drive chain with respect to the feed belt to create a predetermined first overlapping trajectory of the drive chain and the feed belt. The method further comprising aligning the drive chain with respect to the discharge device, while maintaining said first overlapping trajectory, to create a second path through the drive chain along which the discharge device can freely move. A packaging machine apparatus is also disclosed.

A filling assembly (100) for filling of a tube (28) of packaging material having a seal starting at a first level, comprises a conduct (106) arranged to lead liquid into the tube 28 of packaging material below said first level and a passage (110) arranged to eject gas through openings (118) into the tube (28) of packaging material below said first level. The filling assembly is characterized in that a gasket (120) is arranged to provide a seal between said filling assembly and said tube (28) of packaging material upstream said openings such that the overpressure P 1 downstream the gasket may exceed an ambient pressure P a upstream the gasket
