Abstract:
A fire protection sprinkler is provided, including a body having an output orifice, a closure element or seal cap to seal a flow of fluid from the output orifice, and a thermally-responsive element positioned to releasably retain the seal cap. A clip, having a first portion and a second portion, is provided, the first portion being engaged with the closure element, and the second portion being in contact with the sprinkler body such that upon actuation of the fire protection sprinkler, the closure element rotates about a pre-determined axis and moves away from the sprinkler body to permit flow of fluid from the output orifice. In particular, the portion of the sprinkler body which the clip contacts is a detent provided on the wrench boss of the sprinkler.
Abstract:
A horizontal sidewall sprinkler is provided which includes a sprinkler body having an inlet passage for supply of a fluid and an outlet, the outlet being closed by a scaling assembly prior to actuation of the sprinkler. The sprinkler further includes a sleeve body secured to the sprinkler body and a yoke substantially spanning a width of the sleeve body, the yoke urging a load screw against a surface of the sealing assembly facing an occupancy, and being held in place prior to actuation of the sprinkler by two levers that are joined by a soldered link. A slide plate is located near an inner wall of the sprinkler body facing the occupancy prior to actuation of the sprinkler. According to one example embodiment, a frame or two guide pins are provided for bearing and supporting a deflector.
Abstract:
A flexible dry sprinkler includes a flexible tube having an inlet attached to a first end, the inlet defining an inlet orifice operatively sealed by an inlet seal assembly. An outlet is attached to the second end of the flexible tube, and defines an outlet orifice operatively sealed by an outlet seal assembly. A flexible linkage extends from the inlet to the outlet through the flexible tube, and is constructed to operatively release the inlet seal assembly responsive to axial translation of the flexible linkage from a first position to a second position. The flexible linkage is supported by the outlet seal assembly in the first position and wherein the flexible linkage is constructed to axially translate toward the outlet when the outlet seal assembly is released.
