摘要: A micropump implantable in an eye is presented. In some aspects, the micropump includes a ferromagnetic member (206), a power source, and a motor coil (204) magnetically coupled to the ferromagnetic member and electrically coupled to the power source to receive power from the power source. The motor coil is configured to generate a magnetic field in the ferromagnetic member when power is applied to the motor coil by the power source. In some embodiments, a hermetically sealed housing (202) encloses the motor coil and the power source and partially encloses the ferromagnetic member. The micropump further includes a pump diaphragm (218) and a compression chamber (224). The micropump further includes an armature (220) configured to move in response to the magnetic field in the ferromagnetic member and a plunger configured to cause fluid to flow through the compression chamber from an inlet (230) to an outlet (228).

摘要: Systems and methods for biometric authentication in ophthalmic devices are provided. In one embodiment, a system includes: an ophthalmic diagnostic device configured to obtain diagnostic measurements of a patient's eye, the patient's eye including an iris and a cornea; an imaging device configured to capture an image of the iris; an optical sensor integrated with the imaging module and configured to detect a position of the iris with respect to the optical sensor; and a computing device in communication with the ophthalmic diagnostic device, imaging device, and the optical sensor. The computing device may be configured to: determine, based on the image of the iris and the position of the iris, whether the iris matches a known patient's iris; and perform a diagnostic measurement of the patient's eye based on the determining.

摘要: In some aspects, an electronic contact lens for treating dry eye is presented. According to some aspects, the electronic contact lens includes a concave surface configured to conform to an eye of a patient, a sensor configured to generate a signal indicative of an eyelid movement, and at least one capacitor configured to store energy used for stimulating the eye. The electronic contact lens may further include at least two electrodes coupled to the at least one capacitor, wherein the at least two electrodes are exposed to the concave surface and configured to deliver power from the at least one capacitor to stimulate the eye. The electronic contact lens further includes a processor coupled to the sensor and electrodes. The processor may be configured to compute a blink rate from the sensor output, and, based on the blink rate, activate the at least two electrodes to stimulate the eye.
