Abstract: The invention relates to a method of operating an alarm system having a central unit (52) and a smart lock (10), the smart lock (10) having an accelerometer (46) and an RF module (48), the central unit (52) having an evaluation module (56) for evaluating acceleration signals provided via the RF module (48) from the smart lock (10), the evaluation module (56) being adapted for distinguishing between at least two of the following situations: a rotation of the smart lock (10) about its central axis, a tilting of the smart lock (10) about a horizontal axis which is perpendicular to the central axis, a rotation of the door (1) to which the smart lock (10) is mounted, vibrations resulting from an interaction with the smart lock (10), shocks resulting from an interaction with the door (1), stop of the door (1) in an open position, closing of the door (1), and a predefined sequence of knocks on the door (1). The invention further relates to an alarm installation having a central unit (52) and a smart lock (10), the smart lock (10) being adapted to be mounted on a door (1), the smart lock (10) comprising a battery (20), an accelerometer (46) and an RF module (48) each located inside a housing (12), the accelerometer (46) and the RF module (48) arranged to provide a RF signal indicating accelerations acting on the smart lock (10).

Abstract: The invention relates to a door lock actuation device (10) for operating a door lock, comprising a housing (12) having an interface side for being mounted on a door (1), an output element (16) adapted for cooperating with the door lock, a drive device (14) operatively connected to the output element (16), a control (22) for controlling operation of the drive device (14), a battery compartment (18) adapted for receiving at least one battery (20) which supplies the drive device (14) and the control (22), a battery cover (26) attached to the housing (12), the battery cover (26) being removable so as to allow access to the battery compartment (18), and a locking mechanism (32, 36) for locking the battery cover (26) to the housing (12), the locking mechanism (32, 36) being accessible only from the interface side of the housing (12). The invention also relates to an alarm installation comprising a central unit and a door lock actuation device (10) according to any of the preceding claims wherein the central unit is adapted for triggering an alarm if the accelerometer signals indicate that the door lock actuation device (10) is being tampered with.

Abstract: Provided is a security monitoring system keypad for arming/disarming a security monitoring system, the keypad including a set of physical actuators to code a plurality of digits, each actuator coding at least a first and a second of the plurality of digits, wherein each actuator is configured to code the first digit upon receiving a first number of actuations, and to code the second digit upon receiving a second different number of actuations. Also provided is a security monitoring system to secure at least part of a perimeter of premises, the premises including an exterior door giving access to a protected interior space of the premises, the system comprising: a system controller within the protected interior space; and outside the perimeter a keypad device for disarming the security monitoring system, the keypad device including: a set of physical actuators to code a plurality of digits, each actuator coding at least a first and a second of the plurality of digits, wherein each actuator is configured to code the first digit upon receiving a first number of actuations, and to code the second digit upon receiving a second different number of actuations; and a first transceiver to receive control signals from the system controller of the security monitoring system and to transmit to the system controller signals consequent on activation of physical actuators of the keypad.

Abstract: Provided is a method, performed by a controller of a security monitoring system, of managing a tamper event detected by a tamper-detection function of a lock of an exterior door that gives access to an interior space protected by the security monitoring system, the method comprising: receiving notice of a tamper event detected by the tamper-detection function of the lock; responsive to receiving notice of the tamper event, transmitting a signal to cause a video camera that is arranged to observe a space in front of the exterior of the door to capture images and to transmit the captured images to the controller; and forwarding the captured images for checking remotely. Abstract: Provided is a security monitoring system to provide a secure perimeter to premises, the premises including: an exterior closure in the secure perimeter giving access to a protected interior space of the premises; an electrically controlled lock for the exterior closure; an actuator for a visitor to indicate their presence at the closure; and a controller coupled to the lock, the controller being configured to: receive details of an event that will involve granting a visitor access to the protected interior space by opening the exterior closure, the details including a security code specific to the scheduled event; and upon receiving an indication from the actuator that a visitor is present at the closure, to: prompt the visitor to confirm that they are present for the purpose of the event, and upon receiving such confirmation from the visitor, prompt the visitor to input a security code; receive from the visitor a security code, and if the received security code matches the security code specific to the event, to unlock the electrically controlled lock to admit the visitor to the protected interior space of the premises for the event.

Abstract: Provided is a security installation to secure at least part of a perimeter of premises (100), the premises (100) including: an exterior closure (102) in the secure perimeter giving access to a protected interior space (200) at the premises; an electrically controlled lock (104) for the exterior closure (102); an actuator for a visitor to indicate their presence at the premises; and a controller, the controller being configured to: receive details of a scheduled event that will involve granting a visitor access to the protected interior space (200) by opening the exterior closure, the details including a scheduled time window and a security code specific to the scheduled event; and upon receiving, within the scheduled time window, an indication from the actuator that a visitor is present at the closure, to: prompt the visitor to confirm that they are present for the purpose of the event, and upon receiving such confirmation from the visitor, prompt the visitor to input a security code; receive from the visitor a security code, and if the received security code matches the security code specific to the scheduled event, to cause the unlocking of the electrically controlled lock (104) to give the visitor access to the protected interior space (200) of the premises for the scheduled event.
