Abstract:
An active element that is based on an electret emulsion and that comprises particles of pre-polarized electret material as emulsion in neutral liquid and both poles of the particles are coloured with different colours. For producing a neutral carrier liquid for the active element liquid fluorine carbon is used. For producing electret material for the active element solid polymerised fluorine carbon or electret wax is used. The active element is used for producing visual matrix displays, indicators, surfaces and surface coatings that change colour by the application of a control voltage.
Abstract:
A material of an active element that will be obtained by cooling off an emulsion of melted electret material subjected to a high electric field and colouring the polarised bipolar particles by covering them with photochromic pigment by turning them in alternating electricity field and subjecting one side of the particle to UV radiance. The active element is used for producing visual matrix displays, indicators, surfaces and surface coatings that change colour by the application of a control voltage.
Abstract:
This invention generally relates to the use of dipole charged balls having differently coloured hemispheres (bichromal balls) in twisting ball displays comprising a pair of planar addressing electrodes and the space between these electrodes that is filled with a thixotropic liquid into which has been dispersed a plurality of electrically charged and optically anisotropic rotatable elements.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for coating fluoropolymers with a coating substance, by atom transfer radical polymerisation and subsequent processing whereas a fluoropolymer is contacted with a reaction mixture comprising at least one ligand selected from the group consisting of multichained and polycyclic amines, at least one metal salt wherein the metal is in a first oxidation state, at least one solvent, and the organic coating substance in monomer form.
