Abstract: An actuation assembly (122, 322) for an oral irrigator (100) includes a bezel (166, 366) secured to or formed as part of a housing (103) of the oral irrigator (100), an actuator (162, 362) operably connected to the bezel (166, 366) and moveable relative thereto, and an augmentation fluid (300, 500) positioned between the bezel (166, 366) and the actuator (162, 362). Abstract: A bypass flow assembly of an oral irrigator is provided. The oral irrigator may include a handle positionable between a first mode and a second mode and a valve assembly including a bypass valve movable between first and second positions and an inlet valve movable between open and closed positions. The first position of the bypass valve may be associated with the first mode of the handle and the second position of the bypass valve may be associated with the second mode of the handle, such that the bypass valve moves from the first position to the second position when the handle is positioned in the second mode and remains in the second position until the handle is positioned in the first mode. The inlet valve may move between the open and closed positions when the bypass valve is positioned in the first position and the second position.

Abstract: An electric toothbrush has both sonic, pivoting brush head movement and a capability to dispense a pressurized fluid from the brush head. The toothbrush includes a power supply, an electromagnetic coil connected to the power supply, and a magnet. The toothbrush also includes a drive shaft defining a fluid conduit therein and a fluid inlet positioned along a length thereof. A brush tip is connected to a distal end of the drive shaft. The brush tip includes a brush head, a fluid outlet within the brush head, and a fluid conduit within the brush tip coupled to the fluid conduit in the drive shaft. The magnet is attached to the drive shaft and positioned within a magnetic field of the electromagnetic coil. A fluid tube is connected to the fluid inlet on the drive shaft at one end and configured for connection to a fluid source at a second end.
