Abstract: The present invention relates to the design of a multi-layered highway toll station. Specifically, the present invention relates to the optimization of the layout of each layer of toll lanes in a multi-layered highway toll station. Adjustment of the barrier configurations between each toll area allows for: the prompt creation of a new temporary high-speed lane when an accident occurs in a high-speed lane; and a temporary change to the direction in which tolls are collected in some toll areas, so as to adapt to heavy traffic flows.
