Abstract:
Improvement in ski boot construction wherein the sole portion (30) of the outer ski boot or shell (16) is joined with a ski-engaging portion (34) of the ski boot by a flexible or deformable connecting means or connection (44) of a character providing for lateral lilting movement of the outer shell or foot containing portion of the ski boot relative to the ski-engaging portion (34) thereby enabling the skier by shifting his weight to deform or tilt the connecting means or connection to maneuver changes of direction of the ski with a minimum of twisting, straining and lateral movement of the knees or the torso of the skier. The disclosure of the invention further includes the use of removable means or inserts (70, 72) of compressible material which may be disposed between the sole portion (30) of the outer shell and the ski-engaging portion (34) at the sides of the flexible or deformable connecting means or connection (44) for varying the resistance to tiltability or deformability of the connecting means or connection (44) so that the ski may be rendered adaptable to the requirements best suited for a particular skier.
Abstract:
Sport shoe in which there is provided a foot engaging means (13), a leg engaging means (2, 3, 8, 9) and an assembly (5, 16, 17, 25) for moving the foot (13) and leg engaging means (2, 3, 8, 9) for increasing the tightness of the fit of the shoe on the foot when the leg is moved forwardly and rearwardly relative to the foot from the normal position of the foot relative to the leg.
Abstract:
A sport shoe such as a ski boot (700) which has a relatively rigid lower shell (702) and a cuff (701) defined by overlapping flaps that can be drawn together over the wearer's lower leg. Inside the boot is a movable foot bed (712) the aft end of which is connected to a cable (708) that is routed through openings in the boot and over guides (719) (720) about the exterior of the flaps to a buckle (722). By closing the buckle, the foot bed is raised and presses the foot against the boot for a uniform fit and, simultaneously therewith, the cuff and flaps are tightened over the leg. The cable (708) is routed and arranged so that in response to a relative forward movement of the cuff (710) the fit established by the foot bed and the flaps is temporarily tightened until the cuff returns to its normal position. A strap (811) can be mounted interiorly of the boot so that it engages the instep of the foot when the movable foot bed is raised.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a ski boot (1) with a shell (2) containing a sole inlay (5) situated above the sole (3), to which sole inlay (5) a height-adjustment mechanism (12) operable from outside is assigned. The height-adjustment mechanism can be used to adjust the height of one long side (7') of the sole inlay (5) relative to the other long side (6'). To reinforce the edge engagement in a ski shoe of this type, the sole inlay (5) is subdivided along the length of the sole (3) into an inside section (7) and an outside section (6), the two sections (6, 7) being connected by a joint (8) whose axis in the region adjacent to the outside long side (6') of the sole inlay (5) extends along the length of the sole. The outside section (6) of the sole inlay (5) is securely connected to the sole (3) of the ski boot (1) and the height-adjustment mechanism (12) is assigned to the inside section (7) of the sole inlay (5).
Abstract:
A skiing shoe, in particular a skiing boot open at the back and having an essentially closed front part and a height-adjustable sole, has a bottom plate (10) which can be raised and lowered.
Abstract:
This invention provides a novel elevated toe device system that allows the wearer's toes to be elevated to a perpendicular or approaching a perpendicular orientation relative to the line of gravity and undertake activities, such as downhill skiing, with a greater amount of control of the skis and/or snowboard as a result of the elevated toes. The conventional systems do not make use of the natural qualities of the foot. On a downward slope, the device permits the wearer to enjoy the dynamics of the foot and assume a stance that presents less strain on the foot while accentuating maneuverability. The device can be a preset system, in which the wearer can interchange devices of different angular orientations to modify the posture of the toes, or adjustable. In an alternate embodiment, the device can be provided so that the surface under the big toe presents an elevated angular orientation.
Abstract:
The invention involves the ski boot volume control sole plate shaped in the way to provide for easy variation of the ski boot volume control. Upon insertion of the sole plate invoked in this invention, the ski boot volume depends on the position of such sole plate, as the latter is provided on one part of both surfaces with ribs (2, 3) of different heights that in combination with the ribs (6) on the upper surface of one part of the inner sole of the boot (5) determine the height of the entire ski boot inner sole in case of inserted sole plate. The set of two sole plates invoked in this invention, that can be moved from the left to the right boot and vice-versa as well as turned lengthwise by 180 0 , provides for ski boot volume control.
Abstract:
A removable, adjustable, foot-supporting and foot-positioning, orthopedic insert (40) for selectivley and correctly supporting and positioning the bottom regions of the foot, which is constructed to have an arch region (44) with a slit (41) and opening (48) in the upper surface and supporting or strengthenhancing ribbing structures (60-62) and support posts (50-54) with cylindrical pegs (55-59), respectively in the bottom surface. The insert (40) is designed for use in athletic or sports footwear (10), whereby the foot is selectively and correctly supported and positioned in the footwear (10), and the leg, in turn, is selectivley and correctly supported and positioned relative to the footwear (10).
Abstract:
A dynamic internal fitting system with a movable foot bed (25) mounted in the interior of a ski boot (1) for controlling foot movement in the boot. The movable foot bed (25) is hinged at its toe to the sole (3) of the boot (1) by a hinge (26). The opposite end of the foot bed (25) is coupled to an adjusting buckle (29) by means of a cable (27). A pair of adjustable strap members (16, 17) are provided for engaging the upper surface of a skier's foot. Both the position of the foot bed (25) and the straps (26, 27) may be varied for adjusting the fit of the boot. In use, as the cuff is moved toward the toe of the boot, the foot bed (25) is raised, tightening the fit of the boot. When the cuff is moved toward the heel of the boot, the foot bed (25) is lowered in the boot, loosening the fit of the boot.
