본 발명은 EMS 설비의 전자기 간섭을 제거하는 몰드 폭 가변 장치에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 몰드 폭 가변 장치는 실린더를 이용하여 몰드 폭을 가변하는 몰드 폭 가변부, 상기 실린더의 목표 위치를 설정하는 목표 위치 설정부, 상기 실린더의 위치를 측정하여 상기 목표 위치에 따라 상기 실린더의 위치를 제어하고, 측정된 위치 측정 신호에 포함된 노이즈를 제거하는 제어기를 포함할 수 있다.

A method of improving control of thin strip produced by continuous casting including the steps of introducing molten metal to form a casting pool supported on cooling rolls above a nip between the cooling rolls and counter-rotating the cooling rolls forming cast strip downwardly from the nip, guiding the strip through the at least one enclosure downstream from the nip, the at least one enclosure having gas inlets for directing oxygen-containing gas into the enclosure, and directing oxygen-containing gas having a desired amount of oxygen through gas inlets into the enclosure to provide an atmosphere 0.5% and 15% oxygen with between 3 and 10% humidity to oxidize at least one surface of the strip a desired thickness of scale on the surface of the strip to provide less mill force and downstream control of the strip.

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Stranggießkokille in einer modularen Struktur mit einem Plattenmodul (2), das den Kokillenformhohlraum bildende Breitseiten- (4) und Schmalseitenwände (5) und deren Stützwände (4c, 5c) umfasst und zwei Antriebsmodulen (1a, 1b), welchem Antriebseinheiten zugeordnet sind. Um in den Modulen eine klare Trennung von Verschleißteilen und Antriebs- und Steuerkomponenten zu verwirklichen und eine Minimierung des Lagerhaltungsaufwandes zu erzielen, umfasst jedes der beiden Antriebsmodule (6a, 6b) einen Oszillationsantrieb (6) für die Kokillenoszillation, eine Schmalseitenverstelleinrichtung (7) für die Gießbreitenverstellung und für die Konuseinstellung der Schmalseitenwände und einen Breitseitenantrieb (8) mit einer Spreiz- und Klemmeinrichtung (9) für die Klemmung der Schmalseitenwände (5) zwischen den Breitseitenwänden (4) und für einen Dickenformatwechsel in einer wechselbaren Baugruppe und das Plattenmodul (2) ist frei von Spreizeinrichtungen, Klemmeinrichtungen und Verstelleinrichtungen zur Positionierung der Kokillenwände zueinander als wechselbare Baugruppe ausgebildet.

A twin-belt casting machine for casting metal strip. The machine is provided with a casting cavity which includes an upstream fixed casting region, in which the belts are in fixed convergent paths in contact with the cast slab, and an adjacent downstream portion in which the belts are adjustable between alignment with the fixed convergent paths and non-alignment therewith (being less convergent or divergent). When the adjustable portions of the paths are moved outwardly relative to the fixed convergent paths, the belts separate from the cast slab at differing predetermined points within the casting cavity. By adjusting the downstream portion of the casting cavity in this manner, the casting machine can operate at essentially constant throughput for a wide range of alloys while ensuring that the cast slab exiting the caster has a temperature within a predetermined range suitable for further rolling to produce sheet product.

An improved method for controlling the clamping forces exerted on opposing sidewalls (12, 13) of a casting mold (10) during a continuous casting operation, which comprises the steps of presetting the mold (10) for the maximum load to be experienced by the sidewalls (12, 13) of the mold, securing the mold at the presetting, and, through displacement measuring devices (41) and hydraulic spring mechanisms (23, 24), controlling the forces exerted upon the sidewalls during the continuous casting operation as a function of the thermodynamic stresses to which the mold is subjected.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of continuously casting thin strip by controlling roll crown is provided. The apparatus for continuously casting thin strip by controlling roll crown includes at least two expansion rings positioned within and adjacent a cylindrical tube and spaced within 450 mm of edge portions of the cast strip formed on opposite end portions of casting rolls during a casting campaign. Alternatively or in addition, the apparatus includes at least one expansion ring within the cylindrical tube at a position corresponding to center portions of the cast strip formed on the casting rolls during a casting campaign. Each expansion ring has at least one heating element and an insulating coating thereon and is adapted to increase in radial dimension causing the cylindrical tube to expand changing roll crown of the casting surfaces of the casting rolls and thickness profile of the cast strip during casting.

A steel slab caster (100) having a mold (130) with movable opposing mold faces (131,132), and methods (300, 400) of using the steel slab caster (100) for casting steel slabs. The movable opposing mold faces (131, 132) may be laterally positioned with respect to each other in a predefined configuration. Molten steel may be introduced into the mold (130) of the slab caster (100). The lateral positions and/or pressures of the opposing mold faces are monitored (330, 430) at two vertically spaced locations on at least one of the movable mold faces of the opposing mold faces (131,132) as casting proceeds, and data is generated (340, 440) in response to the monitoring (330, 430). The opposing movable mold faces (131,132) may be adjusted (350, 450) in response to the generated data.

La lingotière comporte deux petites parois (12) enserrées entre deux grandes parois (11), toutes les parois étant refroidies, et les petites parois pouvant être déplacées horizontalement pour modifier la largeur de la brame coulée sans interrompre la coulée. En vue de réaliser une coulée en charge, les grandes parois (11) et les petites parois (12) sont surmontées d'éléments de rehausse (13, 14) réfractaires, et la lingotière comporte des moyens (31) de mesure de la position verticale des petites parois, des moyens (23) de réglage en hauteur desdites petites parois, et des moyens de commande (33, 34) pour commander de manière automatique les dits moyens de réglage en fonction des signaux fournis par les moyens de mesure, de manière à conserver au même niveau, après ou au cours du déplacement des petites parois, les bords supérieurs (16) des surfaces intérieures de toutes les parois refroidies.
