Abstract: A feed control (34) for a tool bit (30) carried by a headstock (16) of a lathe includes a driving cam having a profiled lobe (40) that permits automatic quick return of the tool bit following each cutting operation. The cam is driven in a forward feed direction by a cam actuator arm (36) carried by the headstock.
