Abstract:
An adjustable insert cutting angle cutting tool (20) comprising a tool holder (24) having a cartridge receiving pocket (32), an insert cartridge (22) clamped in the cartridge receiving pocket (32) by a clamping member (26), and a cutting insert (28) removably retained in the insert cartridge (22). The clamping member (26) is operated by a separate fastening member (36). The cutting insert (28) has at least one operative cutting portion (30), and the insert cartridge (22) is oriented in a cartridge receiving pocket (32) of the tool holder (24) so that the operative cutting portion (30) encounters a workpiece (34) at an insert cutting angle (al). The clamping member (26) has a clamping surface (52) with at least one clamping zone (Czl), and the same at least one clamping zone (Czl) makes contact with a nonplanar clamped surface (54) of the insert cartridge (22) for different values of insert cutting angle(al). The insert cutting angle (al) is increased or decreased by reorienting the insert cartridge (22) in the tool holder (24), following release of the fastening member (36).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a machine tool designed to be fitted with a cutter which is retained by a central screw, this tool being characterised in that it includes a plate (4) which is removable in relation to the body of the tool, where this plate possesses a cut-out (5) for the positioning off a machining cutter with a central hole, this cut-out having two lateral faces (5A, 5B), called the reference faces, and a third face (5C) which bears elastically against said machining cutter.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A drill (1) is used on a jaw bone (14) with overlying soft tissue (15) and underlying, more solid bone (16). The drill comprises a first portion (5) which is provided with one or more first cutting edges and with a first width (B) or diameter. Arranged behind the first portion there is a second portion (4) which is provided with one or more second cutting edges (10, 11) and with a second diameter (D) exceeding the first width or diameter. The first portion can cooperate with soft tissues to form an initial hole (17), and the second portion (14) can cooperate with the soft tissue and the more solid bone in order to enlarge said hole and create a countersunk hole (20) in the more solid bone. The first portion is also designed to cooperate with the more solid bone, during the second portion's formation of the countersunk hole, in order to produce a guidance hole or marker hole (21) in the bottom (22) of the countersink. A hole can thus be formed without previous cutting-open of the soft tissue and with fewer drilling stages.
Abstract:
A screwdriving tool to drive a screw into a surface, said tool including a converging screw engagement end (10) which has a formation (24) to engage a screw, said formation also forming part of a countersinking means (12) formed on the remainder of said tool, wherein said countersinking means is also formed on said engagement end with said countersinking means at least in part being insertable into a recess in said screw, said recess being used to drive said screw into a surface.
Abstract:
A bit for removing a broken fastener comprises a tip from which extend two or more notches separated by scraping surfaces formed from two-sided frusto-conically-shaped regions. The scraping surfaces are bounded on one side by a cutting edge and on the other side by a non-cutting edge and are configured to cut into the fastener when the bit is rotated in a direction opposite to the fastener's direction of engagement. Specific embodiments include configurations where the cutting edges extend at different angles with respect to the bit axis and where the scraping surfaces comprise a plurality of serrations.
