Die Erfindung betrifft eine Zentrierspannvorrichtung, umfassend ein Gehäuse (1), in dem ein Zentrierelement (2) zwischen einer Öffnungsstellung und einer Spannstellung entlang einer Längsachse verschieblich gelagert ist, wobei am Zentrierelement (2) ein quer zur Längsachse zwischen einer eingefahrenen und einer ausgefahrenen Position verschieblich gelagertes Fingerelement (3) vorgesehen ist, wobei das Fingerelement (3) mit einem im Zentrierelement (2) verschieblich gelagerten Stellglied (4) wirkverbunden ist. Nach der Erfindung ist am Zentrierelement (2) eine entweder bei vollständig eingefahrenem Fingerelement (3) eine Relativbewegung zwischen dem Gehäuse (1) und dem Zentrierelement (2) oder bei vollständig ausgefahrenem Fingerelement (3) eine Relativbewegung zwischen dem Zentrierelement (2) und dem Stellglied (4) ausschließende Blockiereinrichtung (5) vorgesehen.

A clamp mechanism for a power distribution line sensor including a drive rod having a first rod portion with a spiral thread formed in a first-handed thread direction, a second rod portion with a spiral thread formed in an opposite-handed thread direction, and a coupling end portion. The mechanism also includes a first clamp portion having a first drive block engaged with the first rod portion and a first clamp arm having a pin-in-slot connection to that drive block, as well as a second clamp portion having a second drive block engaged with the second rod portion and a second clamp arm having a pin-in-slot connection to that drive block. The first clamp arm and the second clamp arm are secured to each other, yet rotatable with respect to each other, at a proximal end of each respective clamp arm. A clamp block may function as part of the securement.

The present invention relates to a straight edge clamp (10) that has a clamping head assembly (14) and a stop assembly (16) mounted upon the body of the straight edge. The head (14) and stop (16) are not connected together and the stop assembly (16) is free to move with respect to the head assembly (14). The stop assembly (16) has a locking assembly that allows it to be locked to the straight edge. The straight edge clamp body (12) can include sections (15,17) that are adapted to be connected together to form the overall length of the straight edge clamp (10).

There is disclosed a clamping device mountable to a bench top for setting an edge piece to an edge thereof such that the edge piece projects from the bench top at a predetermined angle, with interengaging surfaces of the edge piece and edge being formed with mating mitres whereby a mitre joint is formed between the edge piece and the bench top, the clamping device comprising a body, a first clamping means supported from the body for clamping the device to the bench top, a second clamping means supported from the body for applying clamping pressure to the mitre joint, and first and second locators carried by the body and engageable with the edge piece and bench top respectively to maintain them in the required configuration during clamping. There is also disclosed a related method of attaching an edge piece to an edge of a bench top.

An apparatus for securing a workpiece is provided. In one form, the apparatus is configured such that the clamping jaws of the apparatus lie flush against the workpiece and the pressure from the pressure application mechanism is distributed substantially equally over the surface of the workpiece in contact with the jaws of the apparatus. Additionally, the apparatus is provided with a brake mechanism which allows at least one of the clamping jaw members to be secured in a desired position on the elongated member without having to tilt the jaw member connected thereto. In another form, the apparatus may have two brake release mechanisms to account for the various positions the apparatus may be placed in with respect to a workpiece.

A quick action bar clamp (2) comprises a slide bar (4), a first jaw member mounted at an end portion of the slide bar and a second jaw member (8) mounted on the slide bar for relative movement with respect to the first jaw member. When the bar clamp is in use in a first mode of operation, the second jaw member is caused to be moved towards the first jaw member to clamp work-pieces there-between. When the clamp bar is in use in a second mode of operation, the second jaw member is caused to be moved away from the first jaw member to hold work-pieces in a spaced apart relationship. The bar clamp comprises a slide bar extension (20), whereby, when the bar clamp is in use, in either mode of operation, work-pieces of different sizes are clamped together or spaced apart one relative to the other. The bar clamp is thereby readily adjustable to cater for work-pieces of different sizes.
